Native Animal Rescue is….

Native Animal Rescue of Santa Cruz County is a private, non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and release of injured and orphaned native wildlife.

If you find an orphaned or injured wild animal in Santa Cruz, you can contact NAR for guidance at 831-462-0726.

We give immediate care instructions enabling you to bring the animal to NAR’s intake center at 1855  17th Avenue, Santa Cruz.

When you arrive, we examine the animal, give first aid, and determine its further needs. Major medical problems are treated by veterinarians.

The animal is then cared for until it is able to be released back into the wild.

We keep exact records on each animal to help wildlife management professionals further their understanding of local migration, breeding and habitat trends.

NAR receives over 5,000 calls each year for information or assistance with orphaned, injured or sick wildlife. Over 90% of NAR’s annual budget is in private donations received from people like you.

Thank you for your continued support and generosity!
